The night before yesterday, I got to know something which I didn't know and also didn't know" that I didn't know". Do you know why Television is known as the "Idiot Box". Just in case you are wondering that 'what's the big deal!....everyone knows that;......its becoz its watched by idiots, i.e. people who have either nothing to do, or who do not have the know-how to do anything, or something along these lines" then you are wrong. There is another reason which is a much more suitable answer to that question" then what the majority of us think.

So-ready! here I go-----
"TELEVISION or rather "watching television" is called the idiot box because watching it does not even exercise your mind. Everything else we do-watching a movie, reading a book, listening to a record, ... requires a little polishing of those "little grey cells" but not television watching.

I have to admit that this statement has "sceptism" written all over it and ails from a chronic falsity problem-but it's true! You don't have to take my word for it. Look the TV guide up and make a note of the program you dislike so much that you wouldn't be caught watching it with even if somebody is payig you to do so. (My vote goes to the Pati, Patni aur Woh" reality show. Just before it starts, start doing something important and after its run for 2 mnts say, sit down and watch it. You will be brain dead that is, your eyes will go on viewing the pictures but your mind will not register anything. the little chips of feedback get lost in the complex maze inside our heads and will come to a stop before it reaches wherever it is supposed to reach. So, you become "brain dead" or an idiot.

Don't just take my word for it and try it. You will change your mind-believe me!!

WHY SHOULD WE LIVE, MY FRIENDS?
